Mmmm, That was good.

Hubbies work is really slow and its hurting our pockets bad. I've gotten into couponing and have found some great stuff. I never realized how easy (after a few tries) it is. I also found some yummy recipes.

Monday Night, we were running around and didn't have time to get fancy on dinner, So I THOUGHT..
I made Picante Chicken Enchiladas, using Pace Picante Sauce. WOW, these were great. Thought i'd share the recipe with you. For more recipes you can go to pacefoods.com .

1 jar (16oz) Pace Picante Sauce
1/2 cup sour cream
2 tsp chili powder
2 cups cubed cooked chicken
1/2 cup shredded monterey jack cheese
6 Flour Tortillas (i used 8 corn tortillas instead, didn't have flour)
1 green onion, thinkly sliced (about 2 tablespoons)(optional)

1. Stir 3/4 cup picante sauce, sour cream and chili powder in a medium bowl
2. Stir the picante sauce mixture, chicken and cheese in a large bowl (or into pan used to cook chicken)
3. Spoon about 1/3 cup chicken mixture down the center of the each tortilla. Roll up the tortillas and place seam-side up in a lightly greased baking dish. Pour remaining picante sauce over the filled tortillas.
4. Bake at 350 for 40 minutes or until the enchilas are hot and bubbling. Top with Onion.

This was sooo good. Everyone gobbled them up.

Pre-Teen

My babyboy, isn't a baby anymore. Saturday May 15th, he turned 11. The whole week that led to his bday he would say to me, "I'M GONNA BE A PRE-TEEN MOM". A pre-teen, what exactly is a pre-teen. According to my son, it's a child who's "ALMOST" a teenager.
WOW, they have a name for it. Is it like preparing them for the attitude change from sweet to sour. Oh i hope not. My son is great and I hope he forever stays that way.
Well.. For his bday, he wanted a sleep over, but not like girls do it. He wanted to camp outside. You know with S'mores and all.
So we BBQ'd for the parents that chose to hang out and then the boys camped out all night. We set up two tents, one for the boys and one for my hubby who had to stay outt here also. A few girls (my cousins) were around but just for the campfire, NO GIRLS ALLOWED TO SLEEP OVER.

They had a good time around the campfire. They roasted marshmellows and made a nasty mess with s'mores. (i'm not a fan of s'mores)

In Total 5 boys stayed the night. Morning came and i thought it was over. NOPE, for some reason parents thought I would keep them all day. The last kid left at 9pm. It's okay though, it was fun and my son had a great time.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY PRE-TEEN. I LOVE YOU KIDDO.

We Love Football

Football is our favorite sport in this house. We have rival teams, which makes it all more fun. Well now, we don't have to wait til football season to get our fix. LOL. My son was trying out for a local football team since March and we FINALLY got word. He made the team.
They'll be practicing all summer long and will start games at the end of summer. Well i guess we do have to wait but this time we get to see our NEW favorite team practice. We're so excited about this but he's more excited than the rest of us.
WAY TO GO RAY J. WE'RE SO PROUD OF YOU.
GO WOLVERINES

Cinco De Mayo

Bakersfield Playgroup Pals, is a meetup group where we get together at parks, fast food places, homes or pools. We let our kids play while mommies chat. It's a perfect combo of adult time and playtime for kids.
Recently, May 5th, I hosted a big meetup here. We got together to celebrate Cinco De Mayo (Mexico defeats France). It was a good reason to try different mexican food and get together with friends.

The kids has such a great time. I set up a bounce house for the little ones and had great shaded tables for adults.

We also celebrated the birthday of one of our little members, Brookly. She turned 4, we had birthday cake and fun gifts just for her.

Because my hubby is a huge fan of music and loves to get people dancing, he converted his garage into a mini night club. Well his intentions were to get adults dancing. That didn't happen. Adults need alcohol to get going and because we all had our babies, we held back.. ALOT !!! lol. But the dance floor was put to use. Those little ones were really shaking their groove thangs.

This was a fun one. I look forward to more fun to come. I love our BPP group.

What's New

We've added a new member to our family. His name is Charlie. We don't know what he is yet because he still so little but we're thinking Golden Retriever or Yellow Lab. My friend Betty found him abondoned at a school. He was alone and cold. She wanted to keep him for her own family but they already have 3 pets so her hubby said NO. She new we had been looking for a new puppy for our son Ezekiel. Destiny has a Chihuahua who is very true to her and Ezekiel needs a big play buddy, as rough as he is.
Betty asked that we keep the name that her son had already given him. We agreed since he was having such a hard time parting with sweet Charlie. Charlie is one of those dogs that you just fall in love with at first sight. He is very loveable and likes to play. His first time here with us, he cuddled into my neck and fell asleep. We made him a bed and he took to it right away. He doesn't cry or whine. He eats, sleeps and poops like a typical baby. He is already potty training himself. He wakes up, walks to his food, Eats and walks to the back door. We let him out, he does his business, comes back inside and goes back to bed. He is soo adorable. I know the cuteness only last for a little while because soon Charlie will be a big dog, tearing up our shoes and driving us crazy. But crazy is what we're use to, so we accept with open arms and an open heart. i'm so happy we were able to take in this wonderful little friend of ours.
We love you Charlie.
