Another Shot ... at Blogging

It's been since August since i've updated here. I try so hard and then fail, but not this time. I'm sticking it to it.
Since August, we've been so busy. FOOTBALL FOOTBALL FOOTBALL. but after a very fun season, it's over.
My boys team went undefeated and lost in the final playoff game. They were so awesome and i'm super proud of him. I'm already looking forward to the future and the days I get to sport his professional jersey.. hahaha.. Hey a mom can dream big too.

Destiny is now 3, as of September and she is Queen of her own little fantasy land. She's good at it too, they all love her and noone talks back. Her brothers aren't allowed there.

Ezekiel... oh my boy... my boy. He's 100% boy, big trucks and loud noise. Frogs, Snails and Puppy Dog tails.. He'll be 2 soon, so we're planning his bday party.

BUT UP NEXT...
Thanksgiving.. can't wait for the yummy food, my family together and the great laughs we'll all have.. then Disney.. We're taking the little ones to Disney for the first time. They are going to just love it. I'm so excited for them.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING... HOPE YOU ALL ENJOY IT.

Birthdays

My babygirl is going to be 3 in a little over a month. I love throwing parties, especially when they're so young. Yeah Yeah, sure they won't remember but they'll have pictures to show them.
We're doing a Carnival Themed Birthday for Destiny.
So since it's August 3rd. I figured i'd better start getting it ready now so i'm not running around last minute, LIKE I ALWAYS DO.. heehee. Ray j always had some really cool bdays so I have to continue with my other 2.
I have the plans ready, now it's time to get the material.
Ticket Booth
3 game Booth
Face Painting/Temp Tattoo.
Bouncers
Hot Dogs, Popcorn and Cotton Candy.
I'm sure it'll be so much fun. I'm on the hunt for great deal and idea's. I'd like to keep the cost down as much as possible and I think, homemade stuff would be way cuter.

Great Things Coming Our Way

Today we received some really good news. My hubby starts a new job on Monday. We hit a really hard bump in the road and were really starting to get worried there for a minute. How long could this go on before we had to give up everything. Well today he was called to go in and test and turn in everything he needs to get started. He goes in Monday and starts his traing. More pay and more house. THANK YOU HEAVENLY FATHER. I'm not counting my chickens before the hatch but man this feels so good to know that we are gonna be okay. Oh to be able to breathe again ia wonderful thing. I love that man, and I know he does everything he can to make this family strong.

Stop Being Lazy

So today I did the most awful thing anybody can do. I kicked myself in the big ole but for it but was an eye opener. Of course, it was midday. I had already eaten breakfast and lunch so that contributed to it. LOL... HaHa, i weighed myself today. AAAAHHHHHH SCAREY !!! I kept it to myself because my hubby is sick of hearing me complain.
Well our day went on like normal. Kids fighting, Dad yelling, dogs barking and FOOTBALL.
After Ray J's football practice, he comes home and i'm told, the coach was him to start running. YESSSS, my opportunity. My poor son isn't much of a runner. He is really slow and flat foot. So I take this as an opportunity to get going and get off my fat butt and stop being lazy. We will be getting up at 6am and taking a job. Why so early, cuz this is Bakersfield and it's HOTTTT !!!!
Most people start their "diets" on Monday but not me. I'm gonna start my "get fit" program on THURSDAY. Wish me luck..
Starting weight.... HECK NO I"M NOT TELLING !!!

Working from home

I started working from home. Yes i've done those direct sales things in the past. I was a Gold Canyon Demonstrator. I wasn't happy with the commission, 25% didn't work out for me at all. I am a Passion Party consultant, I have been since August 2006. I do love it. But the downside, my calendar isn't as full as i'd like it. So i've been looking around. Something to keep me home and make some money, to help out a little.
I stumbled upon one, by pure luck really. My friend sent me a link to enter a give away. It was for a really cool bounce house. We love bounce houses so I entered of course. Well i didn't win, boooooo !!!. One of the entries said to friend them on facebook, so I did. Trying to get as many entries as I could, i really wanted this bounce house. 2 weeks after entering the giveaway this company posted that they were looking for someone to take calls for them. I responded of course. I'm good at sales, I love bounce houses, i'm a mommy and we need the money, so why not. After several interviews via email and one phone interview, I GOT THE JOB. I've been at it for 2 days now. It's so much fun. I never knew how many people were really interested in owning their own bouncer in their back yard. I love hearing about their families and how it would be so convenient. The best part so far, the goofy part on my end, I love the different accents.
Working from home is good, my babies are destroying my house while I work. LOL.

Summer Time ... Summer Time

Ooh it is getting hot. Today we were suppose to go out the 12th Annual Menudo Cook Off. It's this huge thing, where all mexicans get together and make what they call the best menudo.. of course none of them compares to my mom. Well The Menudo Cook Off is alot of fun. Several groups perform, they have flokorico dancers, Mariachi's, Jalapeno Eating Contest and An Ice Cream eating contest. So much food and beer of course. At the end of it all, you are full and some are drunk. Heat exhausted and filled with entertainment.. You don't even get menudo. LOL Well, we went last year and it was soooo much fun but hot. This year, we were going to attempt but summer time has hit Bakersfield.
Today's high was 96. Whew.. it was HOT !!. I woke up this morning at 4:30am because it was so uncomfortably hot. My babies woke up at 7 and were begging daddy to please set up their pool. We bought them a blow up pool yesterday.. at 8am they were outside swimming. I'm telling you it was HOTTTT !!
I've lived here all my life and I think this is gonna be a good one. Time to start filling my calendar with trips to the beach. PISMO HERE WE COME.

Mmmm, That was good.

Hubbies work is really slow and its hurting our pockets bad. I've gotten into couponing and have found some great stuff. I never realized how easy (after a few tries) it is. I also found some yummy recipes.

Monday Night, we were running around and didn't have time to get fancy on dinner, So I THOUGHT..
I made Picante Chicken Enchiladas, using Pace Picante Sauce. WOW, these were great. Thought i'd share the recipe with you. For more recipes you can go to pacefoods.com .

1 jar (16oz) Pace Picante Sauce
1/2 cup sour cream
2 tsp chili powder
2 cups cubed cooked chicken
1/2 cup shredded monterey jack cheese
6 Flour Tortillas (i used 8 corn tortillas instead, didn't have flour)
1 green onion, thinkly sliced (about 2 tablespoons)(optional)

1. Stir 3/4 cup picante sauce, sour cream and chili powder in a medium bowl
2. Stir the picante sauce mixture, chicken and cheese in a large bowl (or into pan used to cook chicken)
3. Spoon about 1/3 cup chicken mixture down the center of the each tortilla. Roll up the tortillas and place seam-side up in a lightly greased baking dish. Pour remaining picante sauce over the filled tortillas.
4. Bake at 350 for 40 minutes or until the enchilas are hot and bubbling. Top with Onion.

This was sooo good. Everyone gobbled them up.

I WON ... I WON

Recently my friend Monica turned me on to signing up to win giveaways.. I had never know of this so I was shocked at how easy it was.
I signed on for a few but wasn't lucky enough to be chosen. But it didn't stop me. I like FREE stuff. Who doesn't.

On Monday i was notified that I won a cookbook, Dine On A Dime, i'm super excited about it.

Today, I was notified that I won... a photo book.. wooohoo

Yay, for winning. LOVE IT.

Now, i have to get this blog going a little more, so I can do giveaways and try products because you know i'm always up to try new things.

Pre-Teen

My babyboy, isn't a baby anymore. Saturday May 15th, he turned 11. The whole week that led to his bday he would say to me, "I'M GONNA BE A PRE-TEEN MOM". A pre-teen, what exactly is a pre-teen. According to my son, it's a child who's "ALMOST" a teenager.
WOW, they have a name for it. Is it like preparing them for the attitude change from sweet to sour. Oh i hope not. My son is great and I hope he forever stays that way.
Well.. For his bday, he wanted a sleep over, but not like girls do it. He wanted to camp outside. You know with S'mores and all.
So we BBQ'd for the parents that chose to hang out and then the boys camped out all night. We set up two tents, one for the boys and one for my hubby who had to stay outt here also. A few girls (my cousins) were around but just for the campfire, NO GIRLS ALLOWED TO SLEEP OVER.

They had a good time around the campfire. They roasted marshmellows and made a nasty mess with s'mores. (i'm not a fan of s'mores)

In Total 5 boys stayed the night. Morning came and i thought it was over. NOPE, for some reason parents thought I would keep them all day. The last kid left at 9pm. It's okay though, it was fun and my son had a great time.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY PRE-TEEN. I LOVE YOU KIDDO.

We Love Football

Football is our favorite sport in this house. We have rival teams, which makes it all more fun. Well now, we don't have to wait til football season to get our fix. LOL. My son was trying out for a local football team since March and we FINALLY got word. He made the team.
They'll be practicing all summer long and will start games at the end of summer. Well i guess we do have to wait but this time we get to see our NEW favorite team practice. We're so excited about this but he's more excited than the rest of us.
WAY TO GO RAY J. WE'RE SO PROUD OF YOU.
GO WOLVERINES

Cinco De Mayo

Bakersfield Playgroup Pals, is a meetup group where we get together at parks, fast food places, homes or pools. We let our kids play while mommies chat. It's a perfect combo of adult time and playtime for kids.
Recently, May 5th, I hosted a big meetup here. We got together to celebrate Cinco De Mayo (Mexico defeats France). It was a good reason to try different mexican food and get together with friends.

The kids has such a great time. I set up a bounce house for the little ones and had great shaded tables for adults.

We also celebrated the birthday of one of our little members, Brookly. She turned 4, we had birthday cake and fun gifts just for her.

Because my hubby is a huge fan of music and loves to get people dancing, he converted his garage into a mini night club. Well his intentions were to get adults dancing. That didn't happen. Adults need alcohol to get going and because we all had our babies, we held back.. ALOT !!! lol. But the dance floor was put to use. Those little ones were really shaking their groove thangs.

This was a fun one. I look forward to more fun to come. I love our BPP group.

What's New

We've added a new member to our family. His name is Charlie. We don't know what he is yet because he still so little but we're thinking Golden Retriever or Yellow Lab. My friend Betty found him abondoned at a school. He was alone and cold. She wanted to keep him for her own family but they already have 3 pets so her hubby said NO. She new we had been looking for a new puppy for our son Ezekiel. Destiny has a Chihuahua who is very true to her and Ezekiel needs a big play buddy, as rough as he is.
Betty asked that we keep the name that her son had already given him. We agreed since he was having such a hard time parting with sweet Charlie. Charlie is one of those dogs that you just fall in love with at first sight. He is very loveable and likes to play. His first time here with us, he cuddled into my neck and fell asleep. We made him a bed and he took to it right away. He doesn't cry or whine. He eats, sleeps and poops like a typical baby. He is already potty training himself. He wakes up, walks to his food, Eats and walks to the back door. We let him out, he does his business, comes back inside and goes back to bed. He is soo adorable. I know the cuteness only last for a little while because soon Charlie will be a big dog, tearing up our shoes and driving us crazy. But crazy is what we're use to, so we accept with open arms and an open heart. i'm so happy we were able to take in this wonderful little friend of ours.
We love you Charlie.

What we do when we dont have kids.

We were able to get away a few day without our babies. I was having a hard time accepting that they won't be with us, because only bad mommys get excited... lol. Oh man, did it feel good. I love my babies but everyone once in awhile its great to get away. A group of friends got together and we went camping. We took our oldest, 10 yrs old, so he can have some time away from the crying and stinky diapers of the babies. We had such a great time. Sitting by the camp fire, fighting off killer mosquitos and laughing our happy hearts off. I think we burnt off a few hundred calories with all the laughing we did.
It was a great weekend.. but I was so glad to be home with my babies. To see how happy they were when we walked thru the door was the greatest feeling ever. It'll be a long time before we leave them like that again, but this weekend was worth it all.
Parents.. if you ever think.. OH WE NEED TO GET AWAY, JUST DO IT. ITS RELAXING.

First E.R Visit

I'm a mommy of 3, so I've prepared myself that one of my kids will have me in the E.R. My oldest is 10 and I've been lucky with him, we've only had one injury where he's required stitches but we didn't have to go to the E.R. My youngest is 16 months and I swore it would be him. But we were wrong, so far my daughter is the one that gets hurt the most.
We had our FIRST visit to the E.R, last Wednesday. She was playing with her brothers and her daddy and ended up being the one who was crying in the end. She was running away from "Daddy Monster" and wasn't looking straight forward. When she turned to look straight it was to late, her big brother was in front of her and she pumped smack into his rear end. She bounced off of him and landed on her arm. She cried for a good 30 minutes, no she screamed for a good 30 minutes. She wouldn't straighted her arm out so we new something was up. I called my friend, Monica -who is awesome by the way, to watch my boys while we took Destiny in. We waited for 2 hours in the waiting room. We seen a couple of crazy people come in. One lady, was hit in the face by a man. WOW, he did some damage, it was scary. Another man, looked like he tried to burn off his leg, Ewwe not pretty.
We finally got to the back and after xrays and test on my baby, they splinted her up and made an appt for a couple of days later to find out if it was fractured.
We waited for the time to go by, she handled it all well. She didn't bug about the splint, she used it as a defense weapon against her brothers. One week later, she was able to get out of the splint. Lucky for all of us, it wasn't fractured. Just a bad sprain. My babygirl, was so afraid to use her arm again, but she's slowly adjusting again.
I hope this is our last accident for a long time. I hate E.R waiting rooms and the doctors aren't as hot as they are on T.V.

Birthday Fun

This is a week late, but I'm posting now.

I had the most awesome birthday party ever. The last time I had a big party was for my 15th, my quinceanera. But that party was mostly my moms friends since most of mine couldn't do anything.

Well I turned 30 on April 2nd, and decided to have a party that would take us back into time. I had an 80's party. I dressed up as Punky Brewster, my daughter was a Michael Jackson fan, combed her hair to the side (side ponytail) and scrunched her socks over her pants. Soo cute.

Decorations included some old games like Rockem Sockem Boppers, Wooley Willy and Connect Four. I had a Rainbow Bright snow globe on my table and some My Little Pony's. I hung Cassette tape from the car port (outside party). We had a DJ set up in the garage, strobe light and all. My friends dressed up so crazy, i loved seeing them all. And the best part of a birthday, the cake, was Rainbow Bright. Thanks to all my friends for making this soooo much fun.

He's Growing up

My oldest son is 10, going on 11 in May. He's been my baby boy all this time. I was a single parent with him for 6 years until my wonderful pain in the butt hubby came along. I made sure to ALWAYS be there for him and never make him feel bad for only having one parent... I was raised by mom and at times I was would be jealous of friends who had daddy's.. but my mom was awesome. So I tried so hard to be equally awesome. So anyway. Ray J has always been a good kid. Never did anything wrong and is a wonderful student. He's never put himself in harms way, so I've never had to worry about him.. But my little boy is growing up. He is making up his own mind and choosing sports he likes and wants to do. (I put him in dance when he was 3 and he's been doing it since). He decided earlier this year that he no longer wants to dance but he wants to try out new sports. He's been doing soccer for 2 years now and he's a good goalie.. well now. IT"S FOOTBALL. AAAAAAAHHHHHHH is all I can think. I mean I love football, we are huge fans of the sport, but the thought of my son playing.. getting hit.. OUCH!!. Of course I can't stop him, I have to let him make his choices and support him all the ways, so we say YES. He had his first tryout yesterday (3/23). He did so good. Coaches were rough, yelling and making them sweat. All I could think, is HEY LEAVE HIM ALONE.. but i kept my cool and sat back and watched. When practice was over he was super excited. Said one of the coaches said he likes his size and is looking forward to putting him as a lineman... AAAAAAHHHHHHhh..
Well here we go, our journey begins. He's making up his own mind and I hope and pray that they are always good decisions. I know football isn't a big deal but it's the first time he has decided on his own that its what he wants to do. (i lied he chose soccer but that isn't a rough sport and he's bigger than most of those boys... this time. He looks little compared to some of them)

Sunday Afternoons

Today was an amazing Sunday. Hasn't been great like this in a LONG time.
We didn't make it to church, which was bad... but we prayed and thanked the Lord for a beautiful day. We had brunch and did a little shopping (diapers). Then
drove to visit family. We celebrated my Uncle and Cousins birthdays. Good food, lots of family and tons of laughs. So amazing. The kids played, the adults chatted and BS'd like always. My cousin had a water bed to be emptied out and used today as a perfect day to put the men to work, lured them in with food and beer.. and made them do a little work. LOL.
Some of us stayed longer than others, some friends showed up and we talked about the old days. So funny to hear how life has changed for so many of us. Once upon a time we said, we'd NEVER get married and have kids and now, we all have a ring around that finger and little ones that control everything we do.
We use to talk about the latest gossip and now we talk about the cartoons our kids have us watching. I wish I knew where my paper I wrote in High School was, when it asked me WHERE I SAW MYSELF IN 10 YEARS... i know it didn't say, watching sprout with 2 beautiful babies... but i'm sooo happy that I am. I love my family. I love my hubby and I THANK GOD EVERDAY FOR MY BLESSINGS.

Potty Training

We are in the middle of potty training the our 2 year old. It is the most challenging thing as a parent so far. My oldest is 10 years old, potty training him was a breeze. I think mostly because he had fun sinking the cheerios. BOYS!!. Well now, the challenge is the girl. We've been trying since she turned 2 in September. She just wasn't having it. She would kick and scream when we pulled out the potty. According to her, it was "SCARY". So we kind of just left it alone for a little bit.
Lately I've been noticing that she could go a full day without going pee pee, but when she goes, she leaks thru and it's nasty. We have other friends who are doing the same thing we are doing. One of her friends, decided she's ready and has been using the potty for the past 2 days. I told my daughter that her friend is already doing it and she said ::"She's not scared?" So i said, NOPE, SHE'S A BIG GIRL... so she decided to give a try. I sat her down today while watching her favorite show... DORA. and she did it. She was so super excited about it. We danced and sang and gave high fives. She called daddy at work and she called her Nina (godmother). Both gave her so many praises and told her that they had a special gift got her. So now, she's been in her panties all day and says, MOMMY I GO POTTY, I GET STICKERS. Oh man, i hope this is it. I hope she will keep it up. YAY my baby girl.

Tuesday- Baked Chicken w/Ham Gravy, Baked Zuccinni, Mashed Potatoes
Wednesday- Sheperd's Pie and Corn on the cob

Starting Over

I had to cancel my other blog because it got some kind of weird virus. Thats not good. That is what happens when someone is not so computer smart. UGH. Luckily my awesome friend Monica was able to fix it all for me. YAY MONICA.
So here I am starting over.
No biggie, my last one was kind of slow, since I really didn't write much all the time.
My kids keep me on my toes, one would think I had tons to write.
Our family consist of 3 kids, 10, 2 and 1. One Dog. 2 Wacky Parents who wish our kids came with instruction manuals. Everyday is something new with all of them.
We are getting ready for Football tryouts, Soccer sign ups and looking for a new dance group to join. Potty Training, Rocking Pageants, and learning our ABC's and 123. Climbing tables, learning sign language and torturing the dog.
Just a normal day in my life.
Meet the CRAZY ROSS FAMILY.
